I Said I Was Going to Stay Quiet About Ken. Then the Internet Started Making Shit Up.

I said I wasn't going to talk about this.
After Ken passed away, I pretty much made the decision that I was going to let sleeping dogs lie. Whatever opinions I had about Ken, Gypsy Rose Blanchard, or everything that had happened before this didn't matter anymore. Somebody died. People lost somebody they loved. I figured I'd say I'm sorry for their loss, leave it the fuck alone, and let whatever happened come out when it came out.
And I tried.
Then I opened TikTok.
Over the last few days, my FYP has become one giant fucking detective convention. YouTube isn't much better. Everybody has a theory. Everybody has a source. Everybody supposedly recognizes a car interior, a window switch, a sunroof, a sound, a shadow, or something else that apparently makes them Sherlock fucking Holmes.
I watched the video everybody keeps analyzing. It's less than four minutes long. You don't see Ken's face, but if you slow the video down, you see a quick shot at the top of his head, and him waving his hand over the camera. You basically see the ceiling of the vehicle while hearing road and wind noise. It looked to me like the phone was probably sitting between his legs while he was driving. You can hear what sounds like his stomach growling. That's about it.
Yet somehow the internet has turned that into an entire fucking movie.
I've heard that he was driving a Mazda. No, it was a Nissan. No, it was a Honda. Somebody recognizes the window controls. Somebody says the sunroof proves something. Then somebody else says Ken wasn't even driving. Apparently he's sleeping in the back seat while Gypsy and Ryan are driving around talking on the phone.
Where the fuck are we getting this from? If you've got evidence, show it. Don't show me another TikTok creator repeating what another TikTok creator said. Show me the actual evidence. Because that's how this shit starts.
One person speculates about something. The next person repeats it but leaves out the word "maybe." The third person hears it and repeats it as something that "reportedly happened." Five creators later, everybody on TikTok thinks it's a fucking established fact.
It's the world's biggest game of telephone. I tell somebody "blue." That gets passed through a thousand people. Somewhere along the way blue becomes green, green becomes red, and by the time it reaches the last person somebody is asking what the fuck I ate for dinner. That's what I'm watching happen with Ken.
Then the police report became part of the conversation, and suddenly everybody started trying to reconstruct exactly what happened inside that house. There were reportedly items described in or around the bathroom and bedroom that people immediately started connecting together. People began discussing syringes, a spoon or substance, shot glasses, a handgun, a paper towel with what appeared to be blood, and where Ken was ultimately found. And immediately everybody had a fucking screenplay. The shot glasses must have been used for this. The syringe must have been used for that. Somebody else must have been there. Somebody must have given him something. Gypsy must somehow be involved. Somebody was paid. A family member was involved. I've heard so many versions of this story that I don't even know how many we're up to anymore.
And here's where I finally said: Fuck it. I'm breaking my silence. Not because I know exactly what happened. That's the entire fucking point. I don't. And neither do most of the people confidently telling you that they do. I responded to one creator because he was having trouble making A, B and C of the situation fit together. I offered another possibility based on what had been described. Maybe some of these objects have perfectly ordinary explanations when considered together. Maybe they don't. Maybe Ken prepared something in one room and went into another. Maybe the shot glasses had nothing whatsoever to do with drugs. Maybe they contained alcohol because it was his birthday. Maybe they contained something completely different. I can come up with possibilities all fucking day. That doesn't turn any of them into facts. The same thing goes for the handgun. I've seen people asking, "Well, if Ken intended to end his life, why wouldn't he just use the gun?" How the fuck should I know?
People aren't computer programs. Fear, pain, intoxication, familiarity, hesitation and a million other things can affect what somebody does in their final hours. The presence of a firearm doesn't prove what somebody intended to do with it, and somebody choosing one method over another doesn't prove a conspiracy. There could also be a completely different explanation for why the gun was there. My understanding has been that Ken carried it for protection because of the amount of attention and hostility surrounding the family online. If that's true, its presence near him wouldn't necessarily mean it had anything to do with his death.
But notice the words I'm using:
Could. Maybe. Possibly. My understanding.
Those words fucking matter. I can look at the available information and tell you what makes sense to me. I can tell you what I think is plausible. I can tell you what doesn't make sense to me. What I cannot do is take something I imagined and announce it to thousands of people as something that happened. Neither should anybody else.
And this is where Gypsy comes into it, because it feels like there are people who desperately want this story to end with Gypsy being responsible somehow. They want the next chapter. They want the twist. They want to be able to say she "re-offended." So every unanswered question becomes an opportunity to squeeze her into the story.
Maybe evidence eventually comes out implicating somebody else. Maybe it doesn't.
That's why investigations fucking exist. If there is a toxicology examination, wait for it.
Wait for the completed autopsy findings. Wait for investigators to determine what substances were present, what physical evidence means, whether anybody else's DNA or fingerprints matter, and whether there's evidence supporting involvement by another person. Those reports might confirm some people's theories. They might destroy them.
They might reveal something nobody on TikTok has even thought of yet. That's how evidence works. And that's the part that's driving me fucking crazy.
We're talking about a real person who died. We're talking about real family members who are still alive. We're talking about accusations that can follow real people forever.
This isn't CSI: TikTok. You don't get extra points for solving the case before the medical examiner does. You don't win anything because your thumbnail says BREAKING!!! with seventeen red arrows pointing toward a fucking shot glass. And being first doesn't mean you're right.
I stayed quiet because I thought the decent thing to do after somebody died was to let the facts come out and give the people involved some room to fucking breathe.
Speculate if you want. Discuss possibilities. Ask questions. Hell, question everything.
But stop presenting theories as fucking facts. If you've got proof, show the proof.
If you don't, say you don't. And if the actual evidence isn't available yet, there's another option everybody seems to have forgotten exists:
Wait.
Because the internet never forgets the accusation.
Even when it turns out the accusation was complete bullshit.
